Tribute to Le King
There are many great players in United history such as George Best, Denis Law, Mark Hughes, Steve Bruce, Bryan Robson, Duncan Edwards and et cetera (the list will be long enuff so I’m not bother to finish it).
But for me, the one that stand out among these mortal heroes is, ERIC CANTONA.
[[ excerpt taken from Wikipedia.org]]
Éric Daniel Pierre Cantona (born 24 May 1966 in Marseille) is a French former footballer of the late 1980s and 1990s. He ended his professional footballing career at Manchester United where he won four Premiership titles in five years (being suspended the season without title), including two League and FA Cup “doubles“. Cantona is often regarded as having played a major talismanic role in the revival of Manchester United as a footballing powerhouse and he enjoys iconic status at the club. In 2001 he was voted their player of the century, and to this day United fans refer to him as “King Eric”.
Among his famous quotes are:-
- “When the seagulls follow the trawler, it is because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea.[3]“
- “My best moment? I have a lot of good moments but the one I prefer is when I kicked the hooligan.”
- “I didn’t study; I live. You can’t study these things – life teaches them to you. You don’t find them in a book… I’ve read a lot of Socrates on Page 3 of the Sun.”
- “I feel close to the rebelliousness and vigour of the youth here. Perhaps time will separate us, but nobody can deny that here, behind the windows of Manchester, there is an insane love of football, of celebration and of music.”
- “When you are a rich man you are proud to own a Rolls Royce and when you are a poor man you are proud to own a Renault.”
- “Football is like making love, if you can’t last 90 minutes like me, you wont win”
- “I might have said that, but on the whole I talk a lot of rubbish.”
- Described national teammate Didier Deschamps derisively as “the water-carrier”. Cantona meant that Deschamps only existed to pass the ball to more talented players.
- “I had heart, and I know without heart you cannot play.”
- “No, it is me.” (After being asked whether Zinédine Zidane or Michel Platini was the greatest-ever French footballer [4])
Eric Cantona, without doubt the most colourful player ever grace the Theatre of Dreams. LEGEND!

Soybean Milk
[[Wikipedia.org]]
Soy milk (also called soya milk or soybean milk) and sometimes referred to as soy drink/beverage is a beverage made from soy beans. A stable emulsion of oil, water and protein, it is produced by soaking dry soybeans, and grinding them with water. Soy milk contains about the same proportion of protein as cow’s milk~ around 3.5%; also 2% fat, 2.9% carbohydrate and 0.5% ash. Soy milk can be made at home with traditional kitchen tools or with a soy milk machine.
Tofu is made by coagulating the protein from soy milk, just as cheese is made from milk.
Origins
Soy milk may have originated in China,[1] a region where soybean was native and used as food long before the existence of written records. The earliest written record comes from Liu An using it as a medicine, and a later record of the drink as a medicine could be found in Bencao Gangmu.[2] Later on, the soybean and soybean foods were transplanted to Japan. Soybean milk is reputed to have been discovered and developed by Liu An of the Han Dynasty in China about 164 BC. Liu An is also credited with the development of “Doufu” (soybean curd) in China which 900 years later spread to Japan where it is known as “tofu“.
Enuff with boring introduction, what I’m trying to share is that lately my eldest daughter of mine which we fondly called “Kakak” has developed this new addiction for Soybean Milk. Almost daily we have to stop by this uncle ‘warung’ to buy her afternoon treat. Previously, whenever we go, she’ll always ask for fresh coconut drink. Now seems like its always has to be Soybean Milk. Haha. See some picture of her enjoying the stopover at this uncle ‘warung’.
(Kakak making faces at me. Heh!)
(Kakak delighfully having her drinks)
(Umi waiting for my order, ABC hehe!)
If I can recall, during my early days, I can’t stand the smell of Soybean Milk. Only in later years that I enjoy drinking it. Surely Kakak affection to Soybean Milk coming from my other half’s DNA hahaha!.
Pictures underneath are the surrounding areas (not connected to the title but what the heck) … I found this corner lot’s owner affection to ‘Bunga Kertas’ very interesting .. If I have the space to grow them, surely I would love to plant a couple of it around my house as well.
Nice!

Focus on player of the tournament … so far
Introduction on Andrei Arshavin.

[[Wikipedia.org]]
Andrei Arshavin (Russian: Андрей Сергеевич Аршавин) (born May 30, 1981 in Leningrad) is a Russian international football forward who currently plays for Zenit St. Petersburg. He is a versatile Second Striker who can also play as Attacking midfielder and Side midfielder. He is best known for his close control, vision, playmaking ability, speed and pace. [1]
Club career
Arshavin graduated from Smena football school. In 1999 and early 2000 he played for Zenit’s farm club, Zenit-2, in the Second Division.
In 2000 he was included in the Zenit squad. He played in various positions on the field, starting as a right midfielder, then as an attacking midfielder and finally adopted the second striker’s role playing on a flank or behind a target man. He won the Russian Premier League Award for the player of the season largely because of his ability to play well as a winger, playmaker and as a striker.
In the 2007 Russian Premier League season Arshavin guided his Zenit St Petersburg side to the title, starting all 30 matches – scoring 10 goals and providing 11 assists along the way. It was the club’s first league title since claiming the now defunct Soviet Top League in 1984.
Control, vision and strong running are viewed among the abilities which characterise his style of play.[1]
International career
Arshavin debuted for the national team on May 17, 2002 in a match against Belarus. On March 24, 2007 he was the Russia captain in a Euro 2008 qualifier against Estonia.
He was included in Russia’s Euro 2008 squad by manager Guus Hiddink, despite being unable to play in the first two group matches due to suspension. He announced his return by scoring Russia’s second goal in their third group game against Sweden at Tivoli Neu, Innsbruck, which helped his team qualify for the quarter finals. He scored the third goal against Holland and provided the assist for the second, in the quarter final.
For me, he is one of the strong contender to win Player of the Tournament for EURO 2008, provided Russia qualifies to the final game. Watching him dictated the game against Holland just now has convinced me that he is worth a bidding from United. Heck he can even replace “the ungrateful selfish boy from Madeira”.

Buzz off & never come back!
Cristiano Ronaldo is not doing his part in helping to appease United fans. This question of whether he stays or not at Old Trafford are starting to get on my nerves. His response was not clear cut but his refusal to commit himself to United leaves today’s papers in no doubt as to where he will end up next season.
The phrase below was excerpted from Daily Telegraph,
“Ronaldo revealed following the 3-2 quarter-final defeat to Germany in Basle that in the next “two or three days” he will once and for all make up his mind.
But his comments that “the possibilities are great, but it doesn’t depend only on me. It is a dream, a step forward,” hardly hold out hope for United fans desperate to cling on to their star.”
As for me, I think he can just buzz off to Madrid & please dont come back to Manchester. We dont need this kind of attitute in our club. SAF should now sell this unthankful boy for at least 100Million in cash or 80Million plus Sergio Ramos and Robinho.
